Axis Systems' New FastLink Program Enables Collaboration Among Major Vendors
to Produce Industry-wide SoC Verification Environment
Ten leading verification suppliers join as initial members of FastLink
program
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - August 20, 2001 - Axis Systems, Inc. today launched
FastLink, a partner program that will integrate best-in-class
system-on-a-chip (SoC) verification tools from 10 vendors. The leading
verification suppliers have joined the program, including the worldwide
leader in electronic design automation, Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
(NYSE:CDN); and Verisity (Nasdaq: VRST), the leading provider of functional
verification automation software tools.
Aimed at reducing the time-to-market crisis in the verification cycle,
FastLink will provide customers with a fast and complete environment for the
entire verification flow by linking partner's solutions with Axis'
ReConfigurable Computing (RCC) engine.
Customers of FastLink members can select best-in-class tools for their
verification environment with confidence that the tools will work together
smoothly, not only today but also in the future as new updates and releases
become available.
"As much as 80% of the design cycle is now absorbed by verification," said
Steve Wang, vice president of marketing at Axis. 'It's a problem crying out
for a solution. This collaboration will serve the industry by enabling a
tightly integrated verification environment. And we're pleased to be central
to this collaboration."
Initial members of the FastLink program include:
Testbench: Cadence Design Systems Inc.; Co-Design
Automation Inc.; Forte Design Systems, Inc.; Verisity Ltd.
Formal Verification: 0-in Design Automation, Inc.;
Verplex Systems, Inc.
HW/SW co-verification: Innoveda, Inc.
Debugging: Novas Software, Inc.
Memory modeling and verification: Denali Software,
Inc.
Resource management: Platform Computing, Inc.
"Cadence is committed to providing highly interoperable solutions for our
customers," said Pat Dutrow, director of the Cadence Connections Program, of
which Axis is a member. "Our membership in the FastLink program helps ensure
smooth integrations between our simulation products and Axis' hardware-based
solutions. We are pleased to further our relationship with Axis - as
evidenced in its membership in the Cadence Connections Program - and to
continue to work together for the success of our mutual customers."
"Verification interoperability is absolutely vital for our customers and
Verisity is committed to developing and supporting open solutions," said
Dave Tokic, director of strategic marketing for Verisity Design, Inc.
"We're excited to partner with Axis through their FastLink program to
develop tighter integrations between Specman Elite, Xcite and Xtreme.
FastLink enables us to provide highly integrated verification solutions for
our mutual customers."
Benefits to FastLink members
As FastLink members, partners gain access to Axis' Xsim software simulator,
which has a direct connection to Axis' RCC engine. Axis provides a software
simulator that is directly linked to its hardware engines. Xsim makes it
easy to integrate, test, and enhance the interoperability of Axis tools and
verify that third party tools work properly with Axis' RCC engines.
Other key benefits of joining the FastLink program are joint marketing and
integration development efforts. FastLink formalizes these efforts with
third parties, providing them with software licenses, documentation,
support, and software updates.
Benefits to FastLink members' customers
FastLink members' customers are primarily companies designing and developing
SoCs for networking, communications, consumer, and computing applications.
Verifying these complex SoCs requires using many different tools that run
simultaneously and communicate among various processes.
Through FastLink, SoC designers gain assurance that their verification tools
will operate effectively and that they have the vendors' support behind an
integrated solution.
Axis provides fast simulation and easy to use emulation systems for SoC
verification through its patented ReConfigurable Computing technology.
Qualified joint solutions that integrate FastLink partner tools with Axis'
RCC engines are available today.
